Metrosexuals Suck
Metrosexuals
and the downfall of society
-by
Luigi Di Serio
A disclaimer:
I have no qualms against homosexuality. The following article is
about the emerging trend of the metrosexual. A heterosexual male
that looks and acts... well, gay.
You might be "metrosexual" if:
1. You can't
walk past a Banana Republic store without making a purchase.
2. You own 20
pairs of shoes, half a dozen pairs of sunglasses, just as many
watches and you carry a man-purse.
3. You see a
stylist instead of a barber, because barbers don't do hi-lights.
4. You can
make her lamb shanks and risotto for dinner and Eggs Benedict
for breakfast... all from scratch.
5. You only
wear Calvin Klein boxer-briefs.
6. You shave
more than just your face. You also exfoliate and moisturize.
7. You would
never, ever own a pickup truck.
8. You can't
imagine a day without hair styling products.
9. You'd
rather drink wine than beer... but you'll find out what estate
and vintage first.
10. Despite
being flattered (even proud) that gay guys hit on you, you still
find the thought of actually getting intimate with another man
truly repulsive.

This
trend isn't simply isolated within the male specie, because
there is indeed a female antithesis to the metrosexual: The
manly, rugged, trucker-talking woman (a social term for this
kind of lady has not yet been coined). This is a growing trend,
and there are just too many gender-confused individuals walking
the streets. I'm sure you have a guy friend who wears flared
jeans and fitted T-shirts and who says "like" a little
too often. You probably also know a girl that doesn't like
flowers and pretty clothes, says "biaatch", and pounds
down beer, after beer. We
all know people like this because the general public is being
flooded with cultural, political and social pressures for
everyone to be the same. What this does is it paints a large
gray area in gender roles and kills nature's attraction process
quicker than a hungry cheetah on a wounded gazelle.
Too
often, men and women wear the same Diesel jeans, they get their
hair done at the same salon, they watch sports together and
share the same pitchers of beer. For God's sake, they even watch
Sex and the City together! I have been forecasting the dangers
of this phenomenon for years. I call it *unisexification*.
It is a major social problem that is
the root cause of many of our society's downfalls. As men act
more like wussies and women get more assertive, you create a
platform that leads to dysfunctional relationships, broken
families, unnatural gender role reversals and many kids growing
up with emotional and mental problems. This of course leads to
more violence, drug use and dependence on the medical and social
system.
The
widespread acceptance and integration of homosexuality has
created many strange yet niche cultural customs. In contrast,
metrosexuality has caused much more havoc, but has done so in
complete silence. How could this be? Well, gay people are gay
and act gay and usually only relate to and effect (in a profound
way) their own culture. Additionally, gay people, being gay,
is natural to them and it comes
without subconscious identity issues. And furthermore, gays make
up 2 to 8% of any given population. Metrosexuals "act"
gay, but because they're actually straight they have
subconscious identity issues, which in turn creates social
interaction problems. This ultimately affects family lives too.
We already see the divorce rate skyrocketing because men can't
stick by their word and commitments and women have to take on
the roles of men doing everything from changing light bulbs to
taxes to be the aggressor in bed. If you have not notice these
social trends by now, I'm sure a light bulb just flickered on!
All
great leaders have promoted a strong family as the foundation of
a strong civilization, yet our families are collapsing - thus
our society will, also. Look at dating these days for instance:
It has become such a complex ritual with so many people ending
up hurt over broken romances, rather than learning and
experiencing love from them. So many people can't find dates,
while others play yoyo with each other's hearts and drag out
painful courting or relationships that mount to nothing
productive. Others still jump around into sexually devious and
dangers encounters. I firmly believe that if men and women
behaved like their own genders ought to, the laws of attraction
would keep relationships healthy and interesting. Men should be
driven, stern, decisive, yet understanding and balanced, and
women should be free, delightful and caring, yet loyal. It is a
balance that can’t be replicated in any other way.
Many
ancient civilizations have known this for thousands of years.
The Yin and Yang depicts this balance is a necessity for
anything opposite. Growing up, didn't we always hear people
saying that "if everyone were the same, then life would
suck"? Then why is there such a huge pull toward gender
equality? I believe in equality of rights for all that live in
any civil society, however, I also consider gender roles and the
emotional, biological and mental difference between males and
females the foundation for a strong society. It leads to balance
and stability in families, homes, schools, work, and in
relationships.
So
what's the moral of all this? Just be yourself. If your a man,
act like one. If your a lady behave like one.
